Please Note: Due to the extreme temperatures experienced in the 1994 event, Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon race management has established a policy to be put in place in the case of extreme heat conditions. You will be advised the day before if this plan is set into action.

Weight Class Division. In events where a weight class division is different, the minimum weight shall be 220 pounds for men and 165 pounds for women, monitored by the event organizer. The weight class age categories for men and women shall be 39 years of age and under and 40 years of age and over. Participants are not eligible to complete in a weight class division and in an age group division at the same event.
Aquabike: The age categories for men and women shall be 39 years of age and under and 40 years of age and over.
Relays: Mixed ,Male and Female divisions
Top 3 or Top 10%, whichever is greater. Approximate time will be 10:30 a.m., at the race site.
SWIM – swim course map
1500 meter lake swim, USA Triathlon wetsuit rules will prevail. Note: The water temperature in Buffalo Springs Lake, on average, is 70-74 degrees. It is a spring fed lake, which keeps the water temperature cool, even during the record 113 degree race day. With this information in mind, please bring your wetsuit on race day. (Wetsuits are allowed at 78 degrees or cooler)
BIKE – bike course map
40 km out and back. The course is mostly flat, with 3 climbs on asphalt roads.
RUN – run course map
10 km out and back. The course is flat, with some shade on asphalt roads.
Aid stations will be placed in the transition area, as well as approximately at each mile of the run. Water, fluid replacement, ice, etc. will be provided along the course. A medical team will be on hand along with 2 ambulances in the course area.

FinisherPix will have 6 photographers on the course & at the finish capturing nearly 20,000 photos at the 2014 Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake, Tri Raider, Easy Rider and Little Bison triathlons!
Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon Camp — May 2017
This camp targets the IRONMAN 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake and is also an excellent opportunity to gain insightful training and knowledge of open water swimming, biking, running, transitions and race nutrition for any 70.3 or Half Iron distance race. The camp is designed for the beginner to advanced level triathlete and is limited to 35 people per session.
This year athletes will have the option to race Buffman and Squeaky Triathlon in May. The race is not included in the camp price but we do have a discount code. For race information click here.
