The Open Water Swim is straight across the shallow portion of the inlet at Sandy Point Beach. We will have lifeguards standing in the water beside the swimmers. The swimmers will be following a lane rope to guide their swim. If a swimmer needs to stop and rest they can hold onto a lifeguard or rope or touch the bottom to rest. The average water temperature in Buffalo Springs Lake is 70-74 degrees.

1 loop bike course for 5k, and 2 loop bike course for 10k on flat, asphalt roads. Road will be closed to traffic.
1 km/2 km
Out and back run course on almost flat, asphalt roads. There is one slight rise in the road on the return running beside the beach.
Aid stations will be placed in the transition area, as well as at the run turn-around. Water fluid replacement, ice, etc. will be provided along the course. A medical team will be on hand along with 2 ambulances in the course area.
All finishers will receive a finishers medal when they cross the finish line.

Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon Camp — May 2017
This camp targets the IRONMAN 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake and is also an excellent opportunity to gain insightful training and knowledge of open water swimming, biking, running, transitions and race nutrition for any 70.3 or Half Iron distance race. The camp is designed for the beginner to advanced level triathlete and is limited to 35 people per session.
This year athletes will have the option to race Marley’s Kids Tri. The race is not included in the camp price but we do have a discount code. For race information click here.
